Well, I knew it was coming: facing up to Facebook. I have tried, I really have tried, to convince myself that I couldn't live without it...but I failed. It's not for me, I simply have no desire to lay it all out there.
Now, can this application be useful as a tool to HCPL and it's patrons? Most definitely. Users of Facebook now and in the future will expect no less from us.

Thanks for the thoughtful post. It is refreshing that you realize facebook has potential for libraries, even though it doesn't interest you personally. Actually, I have communicated with a storytime mom when she was home with a new baby via facebook. Another mom told me where to look for her and see photos of the baby. So, these two moms who knew each other from our storytime were already "friends" with each other on facebook. Think of the potential...
